Driving from Victoria Falls to Hwange National Park

Hwange National Park's main entrance sits roughly two hours from Victoria Falls by road — close enough to do as a day trip, though most guests staying inside the park go for several nights rather than rushing back the same day.

The road out of Victoria Falls town is tarred most of the way; it's once you're inside the park itself that the driving changes — gravel, sometimes soft sand, and wildlife genuinely crossing the road rather than a sign warning you it might. This is exactly the terrain a 4x4 is built for, and a sedan isn't.
